If the devil is in the details
then God
God is in the ambiguity
of inconclusive results
and unanswered prayers
God is opaque
is mother of pearl
and a vague notion
that we intimate
but can’t name
If the devil is in the details
then God is the blankness
of snow on open fields
unflinching and stark
steady and soundless
hiding what’s underneath
so we make of it
what we will.
