Having agreed with his bosses that his habit of leaving meetings that bored him, and putting the telephone down on directors because he thought they were were idiots, meant he wasn’t ideally suited to office life, JCG went freelance. A decision neither he nor they ever regretted.

Twenty novels and assorted stints writing for magazines and broadsheets later, he’s still going. Albeit more slowly.
