Josa Keyes
Born both a Maid of Kent and wilful fabulist, Josa Keyes decided early against an acting career, on the grounds that she didn’t have the knees for it. This only left writing.
A high-profile competition led swiftly to a career in glossy magazines and broadsheets, as Josa rose to be features editor of Vogue by the mid-noughties. She still contributes travel and other features; but luckily along the way she discovered the internet (in a cupboard, in 1994), and so has also turned her hand to other things, such as making videos for Tesco, devising arcane security protocols for credit card companies, and creating an entire new website for Land Rover.
Already the author of two novels, One Apple Tasted and Sail Upon the Land, in 2016 Josa was invited to perform her poetry at Soho’s Society Club, and in 2021 released her debut collection, My Love Life & Other Disasters – some of which make people laugh, and others cry (the poet makes no apology in either circumstance). After the successful completion of a Master’s degree, this summer she embarked on yet another career, teaching creative writing.
